Built to Pivot: Faith Group’s Long Game Pays Off with Hot Firm Recognition
By Liisa Andreassen
Faith Group has never measured its success by keeping pace with competitors. Instead, the firm has focused on staying ahead of client needs, investing in its people and building expertise in highly-specialized technology systems. That strategy has paid off, earning the company a spot on the 2026 Zweig Group Hot Firm List at No. 30 among the nation’s fastest-growing AEC firms.
For Loren Boyd, Director of Marketing, the recognition carries special meaning. Having joined Faith Group in 2011 as its sixth employee, she’s witnessed and helped shape the firm’s transformation into a national leader with eight offices and more than 160 employees.
“It’s one thing to look back at our own growth,” Boyd says. “It’s another to see how we compare across the industry. While we don’t spend much time measuring ourselves against others, it’s an honor to be recognized alongside firms we know and respect. This recognition validates everything our owners, leadership, and team members have done to grow the firm.”
Growing with the company
Boyd joined Faith Group at 24 years old.
“What drew me to the firm was the passion, drive and vision of the owners,” she says. “I was excited about the opportunity to contribute from the ground level.”
In those early years, every employee played an outsized role in building the business and its culture. As the company expanded, Boyd advanced through multiple roles before joining the executive leadership team. That journey makes the firm’s latest recognition especially personal.
“Being part of building Faith Group into what it is today makes this recognition incredibly rewarding,” she says.
A niche strategy that stands apart
Faith Group’s growth has been driven by a deliberate decision to specialize rather than diversify broadly. Founded around security systems design, the firm expanded into technology infrastructure, low-voltage and audiovisual systems as client needs evolved.
That expertise allows Faith Group to collaborate with major architecture and engineering firms instead of competing directly against them.
“Our goal is always to remain top of mind as a value-added partner,” Boyd says.
As buildings become increasingly connected and technology-driven, the firm’s specialized knowledge has become an even stronger competitive advantage. Boyd believes relatively few firms can match both the breadth and depth of Faith Group’s technical capabilities while delivering complex facilities that must perform flawlessly from day one.
Evolving the firm’s story
Faith Group was founded as a women-owned business, and Boyd says that identity continues to influence the firm’s culture and values. While the company still embraces those roots, its messaging has evolved alongside its growth.
After outgrowing its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise certification in 2021 and anticipating similar changes to its Women Business Enterprise certifications in some markets, the firm shifted its focus away from certifications and toward the expertise that sets it apart.
“We’ve intentionally focused on the value we bring as a highly specialized boutique firm,” Boyd says.
It’s an evolution that reflects the company’s broader philosophy – lasting relationships are built on technical excellence and trusted partnerships.
Always ready to pivot
Rather than pointing to one defining decision behind Faith Group’s success, Boyd credits a mindset that has shaped the firm’s culture from the beginning – its willingness to pivot.
Many firms hesitate to embrace change because of the risks involved. Faith Group has consistently taken the opposite approach, looking ahead to where clients and technology are headed and investing before demand peaks.
For example, during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the firm launched two new ventures: a sister company focused on integrated solutions delivery and a dedicated Testing and Commissioning group.
“By the time our clients and partners are asking for new services, we’ve already got the right team, knowledge and plan in-house,” Boyd says.
That proactive approach has positioned Faith Group as a trusted advisor capable of delivering increasingly sophisticated technology solutions.
Looking beyond the milestone
Awards like the Hot Firm recognition certainly strengthen conversations with prospective clients and recruits, Boyd says, offering third-party validation of both the firm’s business performance and workplace culture.
Still, she views this recognition as one step in a much larger journey.
Faith Group has set an ambitious goal of reaching $100 million in annual revenue by 2035, and Boyd believes celebrating milestones along the way is essential to sustaining momentum.
“When firms plan 10 years or more into the future, it’s important to recognize these achievements,” she says. “Our success is only possible through the shared efforts of every team member.”
For Faith Group, making the Hot Firm List isn’t the culmination of its growth story. It’s another milestone for a company that has built its reputation by staying nimble, investing in specialized expertise, and never losing sight of what’s next.
