Latitude 33 Recruits Top Talent and Signs New Lease in Los Angeles

Engineering Firm Grows with Key Hire and Larger Downtown LA Office

San Diego, CA — As demand for commercial real estate development services accelerates, Latitude 33 Planning, Engineering & Surveying is strengthening its operations in the Los Angeles market with a strategic hire and a larger office.  The firm recently welcomed Rebecca Wanders as Director of Business Development.  She is based out of the firm’s downtown Los Angeles office, recently relocated to a larger suite at 700 South Flower St., Suite 2580, Los Angeles, CA 90017, two blocks from the award-winning Bottega Louie restaurant.  These moves reflect Latitude 33’s success in Los Angeles since establishing an office in the market in March 2024, and its long-term commitment to the region.

New Talent Positions the Firm for Success

Rebecca Wanders, Director of Business Development, brings 15 years of experience in design, project management, and business development. With a master’s degree in Interior Architecture, she has worked for some of the nation’s most prominent architectural firms, including Gensler and SmithGroup, offering a holistic approach to business development. Rebecca has expertise in client strategy, team collaboration, and offers invaluable project delivery insight. She holds her NCIDQ certification, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Southern California Development Forum. With her leadership role at Latitude 33, she is thrilled to be growing her reach in Los Angeles by recently becoming engaged in the following organizations: Design-Build Institute of America Western Pacific Region (DBIA-WPR), Southwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (SWAAAE), The Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP), and The Asian American Architects and Engineers Association (AAa/e).

Matthew J. Semic, PE, President of Latitude 33, states, “Bringing Rebecca onto our team was a pivotal step for our firm’s growth.  With her expertise and strong relationships in the Los Angeles market, we are well positioned to expand our presence and make a meaningful contribution to the region’s ongoing development.”

“Latitude 33 has experienced impressive growth in the LA market,” states Rebecca Wanders.  “My goal is to act as an accelerator for the tremendous impact Latitude 33 has had on the region in a very short time. I look forward to helping shape a long-term vision for expansion across multiple states.”

Survey Team Opens Burbank Office

Additionally, the company opened a second office in Los Angeles County, located at 639 S Glenwood Pl., Burbank, CA 91506, home to a fully-staffed survey team.  Last year, the firm established a Los Angeles-based survey team to work alongside its San Diego-based professionals.  Latitude 33’s survey teams serve their own clients in addition to Latitude 33’s portfolio of projects throughout the Southern California region.
