Ware Malcomb Names Debbi Papel Director, Project Accounting in Irvine CA Office

IRVINE, Calif. — Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, today announced that Debbi Papel has joined the firm as Director, Project Accounting in its Irvine office. In this role, Papel will lead the Project Accounting team with a focus on optimizing project accounting practices, mentoring and developing staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Papel brings over 10 years of experience specializing in project accounting and financial operations leadership within the AEC industry. Prior to joining Ware Malcomb, she served as a global financial partner for another large design firm, where she led a multi-regional team of accountants managing project accounting processes for a very large portfolio.

Throughout her career, Papel’s foundation in consulting and professional service environments has shaped a leadership style focused on navigating complexity, aligning teams and executing with clarity. She is recognized for building high-performing teams, elevating project lifecycle processes, and partnering effectively with operations and project management leaders to enhance profitability and performance. 

Papel studied for her MBA at University of Miami Herbert Business School, where she was recognized as a Knight MBA Fellow and selected to attend the World Business Forum in 2009. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate degree in international business from Chapman University.
