Case Engineering Acknowledged with Award as Part of Design Team for Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City Pools
St. Louis, MO – Case Engineering, as part of the team behind the design and construction of Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City’s tropical island-inspired pools, has been recognized by Aquatics International with a 2026 Dream Designs: Hotel/Resort award.
The publication’s annual Dream Designs awards celebrate the most beautiful and functional aquatics spaces around the globe.
Opened in Kansas City, Kansas in June 2025, the $150 million resort-style property at the northeast corner of Interstates 70 and 435 features a 229-room, six-story luxury hotel; Landshark Bar & Grill; Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Provisions; 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar; and 14,000 square feet of meeting/event space.
A highlight of the property is its two pools designed and constructed by Landmark Aquatic. The 5,000-square-foot, indoor leisure pool features underwater bench seating, a basketball hoop, climbing wall and aquatic obstacle course. The property’s 53,000-square-foot, outdoor resort-style pool features a zero-depth-entry with interactive water features, in-water lounging ledges, underwater tables and bench seating, waterslide and decorative waterfall elements.
Case Engineering partnered with Landmark Aquatic to design the reinforced concrete walls and footings for both pools, as well as their concrete tables.
“The most unique aspect of this engineering job was the concrete tables located within both the indoor and outdoor pool spaces,” said Case Engineering Structural Engineer Nick McFarland, P.E. “These had to be designed to withstand not just loads from food or drink, but also the potentiality of them being used for unintended purposes.”
Additional members of the pool design and build team included:
- Aquatic Designer: Landmark Aquatic
- Pool/Spa/Water Feature Contractor: Landmark Aquatic
- Architect: Generator Studio
- General Contractor: Turner Construction
- Developer: Sunflower Development Group in collaboration with Homefield KC and Margaritaville
We were honored to work with such an amazing team on this project,” said Case Principal/Senior Structural Engineer Ardie Mansouri, P.E. “The pools turned out absolutely gorgeous and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with Landmark Aquatic to complete the structural component of the pools’ design. The international recognition that the pools are receiving is mind blowing.”
