PAUL DEAN NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS UNIT MANAGER FOR DEWBERRY’S GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY SERVICES GROUP

Dean brings nearly two decades of experience working with firms’ GTS department and clients.

Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Paul Dean has been promoted to senior vice president and operations unit manager for its geospatial technology services (GTS) group. Dean has more than 20 years of experience and joined the firm’s GTS practice in 2005. He is based in Dewberry’s Fairfax, Virginia, office.

Dean has served as business unit manager for the GTS group since 2023. In his new role as operations unit manager, Dean will be responsible for leading the GTS client managers and project delivery and production professionals, which includes nearly 150 staff across the U.S. The group serves clients in the commercial, federal, and state/local markets. Dean’s responsibilities will include growing the GTS practice by bringing in new clients, growing service offerings for existing clients, and delivering technology-related solutions to other disciplines within Dewberry. 

“Paul’s background in successful program and project management, including running large disaster response contracts, combined with his longevity with the firm and ability to successfully lead teams is what makes me confident he is the right person for this role,” says Dewberry President Phil Thiel. “He has served as a leader within the GTS practice for many years, delivering quality service to his clients and always offering a collaborative approach.”

In addition to earning a master’s degree in business administration from Virginia Tech (2017), Dean also holds a bachelor’s degree from the Berklee College of Music (2003) and is a member of the Project Management Institute and Institute For Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
