Sustainable drainage specialist Sudsplanter Ltd has supported a rainwater management project led by Scottish Water and Dundee City Council, through the Water Resilient Dundee partnership. The partnership aims to manage Dundee’s rainwater more naturally, reduce local flood and pollution risk, build climate resilience and create greener spaces, while engaging with communities. St Mary’s Community Centre, in the north of Dundee, was identified as a suitable location for a series of small-scale sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), including two SuDSPlanter rain gardens, to ease pressure on the combined sewer network.  A key aim was to make SuDS more accessible and build community understanding and trust, ahead of a larger planned project. HUNTSVILLE, Ala.  – Local design firms Matheny Goldmon and Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) are pleased to announce their firms have merged. United Utilities has appointed Barhale to deliver a key project to improve water quality in the Micker Brook at Bramhall, Stockport. The civil engineering, infrastructure and tunnelling specialist will construct a new detention tank at Bramhall Precinct car park to reduce the number of times the storm overflow operates into the brook, a tributary of the River Mersey. The shaft tank will intercept a sewer running into the existing Briarlands Combined Storm Overflow (CSO). The contract has been awarded as part of the largest investment in wastewater infrastructure in the North West for a century. United Utilities is investing £13bn to protect and enhance over 500km of rivers, lakes and bathing waters whilst safeguarding drinking water supplies for millions of customers.
