HDR-Moffatt & Nichol Joint Venture Selected to Develop Rehabilitation Plan of Seawalls Protecting National Parks and Memorials in Washington, D.C.

OMAHA, Neb.  — The National Park Service has selected a joint venture team of HDR and Moffatt & Nichol to repair, rehabilitate, and reconstruct several failing seawalls in the National Capital Area. The multi-year program will address waterfront improvements in National Parks throughout the Washington, D.C. area. The joint venture team will start work under an initial task order of $5.7 million to begin the planning and compliance process. The program includes the rehabilitation of historic seawalls along many shorelines, in many parks in the national capital area, including the Tidal Basin and along the Potomac River, from Memorial Bridge south more than 2.5 miles to Hains Point and then north along the Washington Channel, a total distance of approximately 5.4 miles. COWI wins HS2 Euston station utility works contract

COWI in the UK has won the detailed design package contract for utility works around the proposed HS2 station at Euston with construction partners Mace  Dragados Joint Venture.   This vital design package will facilitate HS2’s works to improve connectivity and capacity for passengers accessing the existing London Underground network in  the area. This includes realigning utilities to create space for a brand-new London Underground ticket hall with direct connections to Euston Square station  and rom the new HS2 Station. For the first time, tube passengers will have  seamless connections between the Northern, Victoria, Circle, Hammersmith and  City and Metropolitan Lines at Euston.   Design scope is due to complete in quarter three of 2023, with utility construction works due to be carried out until the late 2020s.  The detailed design of utility diversions to the southern section of HS2 Euston  Station includes significant, critical utilities for Thames Water Utilities Ltd;  CADENT;
