Deirdre Finn Named Executive Director of the Florida Engineering Society & American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 5, 2026) — Today, the Board of Directors of the Florida Engineering Society (FES) and American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida (ACEC Florida) announced the appointment of Deirdre Finn as Executive Director of the organizations. Finn brings nearly two decades of experience advocating for sound public policy at the state and federal levels, plus nearly seven years of public service in Florida state government.

“Deirdre’s overall portfolio of leadership skills, understanding of Florida’s complex political and regulatory climate, and her state and federal non-profit-leadership experience are exactly what our organizations were looking for in a leader,” said Rick Acree, P.E., ACEC Florida President and David A. Keough, P.E., FES President said. “We’re pleased to have Deirdre step into this role and lead our two organizations into the future.”

Most recently, Deirdre served as Executive Director for the Council of Infrastructure Financing Authorities (CIFA), a national not-for-profit organization of state programs that offer  affordable financing for clean water and drinking water infrastructure. Her professional history also includes serving as Deputy Director for the Foundations for Florida’s Future and Excellence in Education, working as Deputy Chief of Staff for Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and conducting political advocacy for congressional, state and local campaigns across the nation.

Finn’s new role as Executive Director of Florida’s two leading professional engineering associations began January 1, 2026.
