Lawrence R. Armstrong Elected Board Chair at Orange County United Way, Repeats on OC’s OC500 Most Influential Leaders
IRVINE, Calif.—Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, today announced Chairman Lawrence R. Armstrong has been elected Chair of the Board of Directors for Orange County United Way for 2026 and 2027. In addition, Armstrong was named to the ‘OC500’ for 2025, a list of the most influential business and community leaders compiled annually by the Orange County Business Journal, for a fifth time.
Armstrong is one of four new officers elected to lead Orange County United Way. Ware Malcomb has partnered with the local nonprofit for over 25 years, in that time contributing more than $1 Million to the organization. He previously served as Chair of the organization’s United to End Homelessness initiative.
“Serving our community is one of the greatest privileges of my career,” Armstrong said. “I’m deeply honored to help advance Orange County United Way’s mission, and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside so many dedicated leaders improving lives across our region.”
Launched in 2019 under Armstrong’s leadership, United to End Homelessness created one of Orange County’s most effective housing-first efforts, helping more than 1,200 individuals gain access to housing through its award-winning WelcomeHomeOC program and a growing network of participating property providers. WelcomeHomeOC has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a national best practice.
Armstrong earlier this year released a New York Times and USA Today Best-Selling book entitled “Layered Leadership,” drawing from all aspects of his life and discussing his approaches to creativity, driving double-digit growth, and developing innovative strategies and execution for competition in the business world. The book recently garnered two literary awards.
