TAMPA, FL — STV today announced that Marcel Dinamarca has joined the firm as vice president and national technical lead for electrical, instrumentation & controls (I&C) and SCADA automation services within its national water operating group. In this role, Dinamarca will oversee the planning and implementation of complex monitoring and control systems that help utilities operate water, wastewater and water resources infrastructure more efficiently, reliably and safely.
Dinamarca brings more than 30 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation and automation engineering across the power, mining, water/wastewater, chemical, fertilizer and municipal sectors. He has led large, integrated infrastructure programs from concept through commissioning, with deep expertise in SCADA integration, distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, power distribution design and substation automation.
“The future of water isn’t just about pipes and pumps, it’s about intelligence and adaptability,” said Chris Haney, P.E., president of the water operating group at STV. “As utilities modernize, automation is at the core of that evolution. Marcel’s technical strengths align with our strategic vision to enable our clients to harness data, improve performance and build resilient systems that can adapt to the challenges ahead.”
Most recently, Dinamarca served in senior leadership roles with a national engineering and consulting firm, where he advanced business development initiatives and led complex, cross-disciplinary projects across the power, industrial, utilities and water/wastewater sectors. He also directed the electrical and controls engineering department for a global engineering and project management firm, delivering large-scale automation and power systems for water and wastewater facilities, industrial plants and utility providers.
Dinamarca is a licensed professional engineer in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from the University of Concepción in Chile and completed advanced training in project leadership, substation automation and multiple control and automation platforms.
