LAND & WATER COMPLETES SUSTAINABLE WORKS AS PART OF THE THAMES TIDEWAY TUNNEL PROJECT

Leading wet civil engineering company, Land & Water, has completed its works as part of the Thames Tideway Tunnel project to transport and unload the London Clay mined from the new ‘super sewer’ tunnel to its Habitat Creation Scheme in Rainham. Carried out on behalf of client AC Bennett & Sons, who are employed by the BAM Nuttall, Morgan Sindall, Balfour Beatty joint venture delivering the west section of the new 25km tunnel, through the use of river barges they have removed over 25,000 lorry movements from the roads of London transporting 850,000 tonnes of material from the main drive site for the west section at Carnwath Road Riverside in South West London to Land & Water’s Jetty at Coldharbour Lane where it was then reused to help regenerate natural habits. (HOUSTON) Houston METRO selected planning, engineering and program management firm  Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN)  as one of the firms to provide architecture/engineering services for its Universal Accessibility Initiative. METRO has prioritized universal accessibility as an agency initiative to commit to public facility environments that can be accessed, understood, and used to the greatest extent possible by all people, regardless of their age, size, ability, or disability. In 2017, the agency began implementing a multi-year project to ensure its bus stops meet or exceed standards laid out in the Americans With Disabilities Act by 2024. As part of the project, METRO is optimizing bus routes and upgrading its vast network of bus stops and associated infrastructure. Stantec-designed US Route 119 reconstruction in Westmoreland County wraps first year of construction

The $23.8 million project will introduce traffic calming measures and boost multimodal connectivity in the Borough of Youngwood outside Pittsburgh Youngwood, PA– TSX, NYSE: STN Global design firm Stantec is leading design for the reconstruction of US Route 119 in the Borough of Youngwood in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, approximately 35 miles outside of Pittsburgh. The three-year, $23.8 million project by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has completed the first year of construction. As part of the project, the roadway will be completely reconstructed with traffic calming measures, new sidewalks, dozens of ADA-accessible ramps, extensive utility relocations, and improved pedestrian access to the Five Star Trail, a nearly 8-mile trail for walking, hiking, jogging, bicycling, and cross country skiing.
